We choose our camp locations based on the weather. If the weather is dismal at home or on the West, you can almost always guarantee that the East Coast is a few degrees warmer and more pleasant. 

A few years back we went to the extremely popular Bay of Fires over the holiday period. All the beach campsites were full which pushed us out to search for an alternative location.

That year we found "the lagoon".

A small campsite on the edge of a lagoon, grass underfoot, bream fishing outside your tent and away from the crowds. A real gem and the perfect location in my opinion. Whenever we head to the East we camp here, we don't even consider the popular beach locations- this place has our hearts.

This photo was taken on one of our trips to the lagoon. I love the way the seaweed has been swirled around by the ocean and left to bake in the sun. While the boys scoped out potential fishing locations, i was here, taking photos and rock hopping to keep up. The East Coast holds a tender spot in our hearts.
